Mount Magnificent Conservation Park

Mount Magnificent Conservation Park is a protected area in South Australia located in the Mount Lofty Ranges about south of the centre of Adelaide. The conservation park comprises 90 ha of remnant bushland. The major feature of the conservation park is the 380m high Mount Magnificent.〔(''Mount Magnificent Conservation Park Information Sheet'' ) Department for Environment and Heritage, Accessed 18/06/2013〕 There is a walking track running east - west through the conservation park, as well as an easy trail to the top of Mount Magnificent. All of this track is part of the Heysen Trail and links Finniss Conservation Park to the east, and Kyeema Conservation Park to the northwest. The walk through the conservation park requires moderate levels of fitness with valleys and rises. The last part to the Mt Magnificent Summit is particularly steep. The conservation park is a good site to see Western Grey Kangaroos in a near native habitat.〔(Willunga - South Australia ), SMH, 8 February 2004, Accessed 23/9/07〕 The conservation park is classified as an IUCN Category III protected area.
